Fredrik Arp Non-Executive Chairman
Fredrik Arp joined Qioptiq in January 2010. Mr. Arp has held senior executive positions in large global companies for the last 20 years, most recently as CEO and President of the Volvo Car Corporation; before that as CEO of Trelleborg AB, and PLM AB, now part of Rexam plc.He has also held numerous board positions in companies operating across a variety of sectors such as medical technical products, branded capital goods and technologies and systems suppliers. Fredrik holds a Bachelor of Science in Business and Economics and a Doctorate in Economics h.c, both from the University of Lund in Sweden.
David Marks Chief Executive Officer
Before being named Qioptiq's CEO in September 2010, David Marks was managing director and then Executive Vice President of the Defense and Aerospace Division, and this since Qioptiq's launch. Previously Mr. Marks had been Managing Director of Thales Optics Ltd. (UK) since 2003 and he had served as Managing Director of Thales Electro Optics (Singapore) for three years. Before that he had served in various general manager positions for approximately fifteen years after having had positions in contracts and sales and marketing in the optics industry. Mr. Marks received his diploma in Business Studies.

Teow Tzing “TT” Chua Executive Vice President, Precision Optics Division
TT Chua began his career with Avimo Electro Optics in Singapore as a mechanical designer in the early 1980s. He then held various operational and research and development roles with Avimo until he joined Leica in 1993 as Far East operations manager stationed in Nanjing, China. Mr. Chua rejoined Avimo Electro Optics in 1996 as Marketing and Sales manager before its acquisition by Thales in 2002. He was appointed Managing Director towards the end of 2003 and became Managing Director of the Precision Optics Division when Qioptiq was formed at the end of 2005. Mr. Chua received his degree in Mechanical Engineering and MBA from Nanyang Technological University in Singapore.

Richard Ivimey-Cook Chief Financial Officer
Richard Ivimey-Cook was named Finance Director of Thales High Tech Optics in 2004 and was Chief Financial Officer of Qioptiq at its inception. Previously, Mr. Ivimey-Cook had held various finance positions within Thales and before that was Group Finance Director of the Avimo Group, a Singapore listed company, prior to its acquisition by Thales in 2001. Mr. Ivimey-Cook is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants. He received his degree in Biochemistry from York University in the United Kingdom.

John Lowe General Counsel & Communications Director
John Lowe joined Qioptiq in 2006 after a period in the Paris office of global law firm Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe. Prior to that, he had been the Assistant General Counsel at Alcatel (now Alcatel-Lucent) after serving in a number of other senior legal positions within the company in France, Belgium and Italy. Before that, Mr Lowe had worked in private practice in Italy after leaving the US diplomatic service where he began his career as an economic specialist. He received his law degree from the George Washington University law school in Washington, D.C.

Hervé Passot Executive Vice President
Hervé Passot first worked with PSA Peugeot Citroen in manufacturing and purchasing positions. He then joined Schlumberger’s smart card division (now Gemalto) as Operations Director. Following this he worked with Tokheim, a manufacturer of petroleum pumps in senior management positions. Mr. Passot then worked with the High Tech Optics division of Thales from the end of 2003 until its divestiture. He has served as development Director of Qioptiq since the company’s inception. Mr. Passot is a graduate of the Ecole Polytechnique and the Ecole des Mines de Paris.

Steve Shaw Executive Vice President, Defense & Aerospace Division
Mr. Shaw joined Qioptiq in 2001 as Manufacturing Director. During his tenure as Director of Operations, Mr. Shaw has implemented many improvements in the manufacturing processes and overseen numerous capital investments that have resulted in a truly world-class facility at St. Asaph. He has also been instrumental in working with Qioptiq’s Singapore facility to effect the transfer technology and manufacturing know-how. Mr. Shaw has a Master of Science degree in advanced manufacturing management from the University of Derby in the United Kingdom.
