The drive to reduce package sizes of optomechanical modules whilst increasing the functionality and optical performance of such systems, has led to significant advances in optical manufacturing techniques. Diamond Turning and Ultra-Precision machining is at the forefront of this revolution, and enables our optical designers to create single, highly complex lenses where previously, multi elements would have been required. Qioptiq is proud to offer one of Europe’s most advanced ultra-precision machining facilities, routinely exceeding the most extreme specifications, both in visible and in exotic IR materials.
In any optical system, where light reflection or transmission is critical, optical coating technology is the enabler. Specialists in ultra-durable and thin-film coatings since 1965, our group undertakes work for a wide range of sub-contractors and OEMs. Our extensive worldwide coating capability enables us to provide one of the broadest ranges of coatings deposited with a range of techniques, from plasma assisted physical vapour deposition to Sol Gel techniques.
