Excelitas Technologies, a global technology leader focused on delivering innovative and customized optoelectronics to OEMs seeking high-performance technology solutions, announced that is has completed the acquisition of Qioptiq, a privately-held company specializing in the design and manufacture of photonic products and solutions for a wide range of markets and applications. Qioptiq was acquired from Arle Capital Partners, a London based private equity firm.

inspec.x L series: float!


Munich, Germany, May 13, 2013The inspec.x L series from Qioptiq has been expanded by the addition of the newly developed inspec.x L 5.6/105 float 0.3x – 3x lens. The optics of the inspec.x L lenses, already successfully employed in many high-end inspection applications, now have
the capability of adapting the imaging performance to the system magnification. This is achieved through the "floating element" technique, with which certain lens groups can be externally adjusted using a scale ring. Mechanical stability, essential for machine vision applications, is ensured by the full metal housing.

New cleanroom now operational at the Göttingen Site

Munich, Germany, May 13, 2013Wanted: Highly qualified employees for the semiconductor technology growth segment in Göttingen. Qioptiq production has gone live in a new cleanroom at its Göttingen site. The budget for this investment, along with a related chiller and heat reclamation
system, was around 900,000 Euros. This has resulted in an increased cleanroom size which is used to assemble complex optical systems at the Göttingen site from 104 m² to 254 m².
